New Mexico 811 must be called at least 2 business days before any excavation begins.
If a Line is Hit or Exposed

Call 811 immediately

Do not attempt to repair the line yourself

Keep people away from the area
04
Call the utility company if the line is identified
Emergency
If You Smell Gas
- Leave the area immediately — do not stop to gather belongings
- Do not use phones, light switches, or any electrical devices
- Do not start your vehicle if near the leak
- Once safely away, call 911
